Chi Kung translates as literally energy / breathing exercise and is China's most successful healing art which is possibly thousand of years old. It is part of traditional Chinese medicine but is used as a stand alone therapy. China has made amazing claims over the years of this fascinating arts ability to strengthen, heal and rejuvinate. It is gathering particular interest at the moment in its ability to help suffers of chronic fatigue syndrome alied to M.E. It is also highly successful in treating stress, high blood pressure, arthritis and cardiovascular problems.
Although Yoga and Pilates are now well established worldwide and have an excellent progressive system for their students, Chi Kung remains unregulated and all to often unprofessionally taught without any proper foundation from which to improve. This is unfortunate because Chi Kung has immense benefits and a much wider scope than is currently recognised. Arete4life does have a progressive system in place and teaches a much wider variety of applications.
