In todays busy hectic lifestyles, it has become more important that the two to three sessions a week most people devote to their exercise regimes involves a variety of techniques and methods that will deliver all of their personal fitness needs. The personal training offered is based on boxing and/or kick boxing padwork, supported by other body / resistance work.
Are the sessions for men and women?
Yes – women rarely get the enormous benefits of boxing/kick boxing pad work sessions due to the male orientated boxing gyms, so personal training sessions gives them the opportunity to enjoy this form of training. Although many women are apprehensive at first regarding the pad work, they quickly grow to love the session.
Do you have to have an existing fitness base?
No – beginners or advanced, it doesn’t matter, each to their own ability and level.
Do you have to do martial arts to do this?
No – the martial art techniques are included within the session. These are the techniques that martial artists have used to get fit, toned, strong and powerful.
What does a session consist of?
The one hour sessions are for one or two people. The main part of the session is based on boxing/kick boxing pad work so you are actually hitting something and depending on a person’s level of fitness a variety of resistance and training methods will support this. This ensures a workout that covers all requirements of a client. There is rarely a need to focus on a particular requirement such as core strength; fitness etc as training this way develops many different physical responses all at once.
What are the benefits of this training?
Firstly, everything is geared to your whole body working as an integrated unit. The body exercises, the resistance work and the pad work are always to achieve this. This integration is life and action specific. Isolation exercises are often pretty useless, a look with no function.
Secondly, combining many different exercises and training methods within one workout has a greater fat burning effect within an after a session.
Thirdly, rarely do physical attributes such as strength, power, fitness etc get developed simultaneously within a single workout, this does.
Statistics show, those who exercise whilst learning new skills are far more likely to stick to their regime than those who exercise just to lose weight or get fit. In fact, this is a more healthy and effective ideal. Learn the movements, progress with the programme’s techniques and the weightloss, health benefits, will take care of themselves.
Does it matter what fitness method is used if you just want to get toned and fit?
Yes of course, it doesn’t matter if you are training for an elite sporting event or even if you just want to carry the kids and shopping in from the car, you need your body to work as a unit, not just within slow movements but within fast powerful dynamic motions as well.
